    Structure description:
    The construction of the new Herti substation lasted from July 2013 to the summer/autumn of 2015. The old substation was integrated in the new indoor facility to make operational safety less reliant on the effects of weather.  The investment volume amounts to around 25 million Swiss francs. The powder-coated weather-proof louvres from Lucoma are a major contribution to the attractive appearance of the building.

    Structure description:
    The “Otto” and “Lore” antenna transporters from SCHEUERLE are two special transporters which were used to transport radio telescopes to the Atacama Desert in Chile. The transporters are equipped with special Lucoma dampers.
    The Atacama Large Millimetre/Submillimetre Array (ALMA) is the largest radio telescope in the world. Costing over one billion US dollars it is currently the most expensive and largest project in ground-based astronomy.

    The Ingula pump storage plant consists of an upper and a lower dam, each containing 22 million cubic metres of water. The dams are situated 4.6 km apart and are connected by underground water pipelines. The underground power plant is equipped with four 333 MW generators. Lucoma supplied around 140 control dampers for the hydroelectric power plant.

    140 control dampers with a special mounting frame and thermally decoupled motor brackets, with temperature resistance to 200°C.

    The most modern available computer centre technology was installed at the Novartis Cube II computer centre in Stein-Säckingen. It is one of the largest computer centres in Switzerland. A total of 125 million Swiss francs was invested for the entire Cube II project. The computer centre is mainly cooled by fresh air. Lucoma AG supplies over 200 large-format control dampers with increased tightness levels.
